Pick Mark Wood if he is available. Pakistan is a team that struggles against raw pace and bounce, and this deck also suits the bowling type. And the right-arm quick is currently only 30% owned. Unless a player is as big as Jos Buttler or Babar Azam, the ownership% is usually low when a player returns to the XI after a break. By the toss, this 30% is likely to reach 60%, but that is enough to make a difference for you . Build your team around Wood and the all-round balance provided by Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Shadab Khan, Ben Stokes, and Mohammad Rizwan. Once you do that, all that remains is to select three batters and two more bowlers. Babar Azam and Alex Hales are in good form, and the alternatives - Shan Masood, Moeen Ali, and Iftikhar Ahmed - aren't appealing or significant enough to risk dropping the duo. Bring them in. The final position requires a decision, and Masood and Ahmed are favourites. A big opening partnership could hurt Masood, but all it takes is one wicket to get the left-hander in because Mohammad Harris' high-risk approach at No.3 could soon see him follow the first batter dismissed back. Iftikhar, on the other hand, has been in good form with the bat and could bowl an over or two if Pakistan manages to catch both Stokes and Moeen at the crease. And his fantasy potential improves if Dawid Malan is fit to replace Phil Salt in the XI. Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi are the favourites for the final two bowling slots. As you can see, there aren't many quality differentials, which is understandable given that this is the tournament's final match and everyone knows everything, making this a grand league game that requires multiple C/VC and support player combinations to crack. And this is where Dawid Malan and Chris Woakes, if selected, come into play. If Malan is in the XI, choose him over Masood or Iftikhar, as on his day, he could easily get you a safe 36-38 ball 50 against a side with two frontline spinners who prefer bowling to right-handers. Woakes has the potential to enjoy bowling here, but he hasn't been at his best in this tournament. There's also the possibility that his fantasy value will rise if Jordan is replaced by Wood, because the 33-year-old will be bowling at the death.
